About

Hi, I’m Rachel.

When I became a mom, it was like someone turned the volume up on a part of me that was always there.

I have more to say. Stronger boundaries. Less interest in sugarcoating how I feel. And a much bigger desire to talk about the things women are clearly experiencing but somehow still wondering, “wait… is it just me?”

Motherhood didn’t make me miss who I used to be. If anything, I feel more like myself than I ever have.

I don’t have the answers. I just really like saying the quiet part out loud and finding out I wasn’t the only one thinking it.

Why the toolkit

I rehearsed it 14 times and said nothing.

Before I made the toolkit, I would rehearse a boundary in my head 14 times, then smile and say absolutely nothing. So I wrote it all down: every postpartum boundary with family, friends and strangers that I wish I’d said out loud.

It’s the toolkit I wish I’d had. Take it, change the words so they sound like you, and send the page to whoever needs to read it.

What I’m not

A mom, not a medical professional.

I’m not a doctor, nurse or therapist. I’m a mom who built what she wished she’d had. Everything here is general information from one mom to another, so for anything about your health or your baby’s, talk to your pediatrician or your own provider.

If you’re struggling, there’s free help at any hour. You’ll find it on the support and resources page.
